Sthapathy B Kumaresan is the of son of late Thiru Balan Aasari, who was awarded “Pattumvalayum” by Travancore Maharaja for his exemplary skill in Thachushastram (Science of Carpentry).
Our Sthapathy B. Kumaresan has a very strong academic background. He has a degree in Temple Architecture from Govt. college of Temple Architecture and Sculpture, Mahabalipuram and a Master’s degree in Ancient Indian History and Archaeology. He has contributed to the design and construction of numerous temples, monuments and other buildings, including the famous “Anna Arch” in Annanagar, Chennai, and designed the architectural component of Thanjavur Tamil University for which he was appreciated by the honourable late CM of Tamilnadu Dr.MGR.
He was the sole panel architect for temple architecture Kudalasangam Development Board.
Additionally, he serves on the Basavakalyan Development Board, Karnataka, and Kaginelle Development Authority’s council on temple architecture.
